Just because someone chickens out on the first date and totally bails last minute, doesn’t mean we can’t be ever lasting. Once we dated... We fell in love, and will continue to fall in love several times over.
I’m not the easiest person to surprise, I’m not one to enjoy most surprises. BUT, this guy couldn’t have planned his proposal any better. We decided last minute to fly to New York before we flew out to see my brothers and grandparents. New York has always been on the top of my list of destinations. Who doesn’t want to go there?? Between the buildings, and the epic food this place is a top notch city. We got into the city early, and had to stop for some great NY pizza and cheesecake. We spent the day in time square and site seeing before checking in to our amazing hotel right in time square. The view was AMAZING to say the least. We got ready (since we had been traveling all night, freshening up was needed) and headed back out into the city. We had an amazing tour of Central Park with a great photographer, and was guided to a secluded area under Gapstow Bridge. This will forever be our spot. The place he proposed. If anybody knows Steven and I, you know that we are the most awkward and goofy people alive. While the proposal was very romantic, we still had our awkward moments as we both stared at each other in complete silence. It was the perfect day, and it was the perfect proposal. We then went out to dinner and had the most epic milkshakes of our lives. And when we returned to the hotel, we had engagement celebratory offerings waiting for us (compliments of Steven). The planning of this was perfect, we were able to celebrate with his family in New York for a few days before we headed to celebrate with my family. Nothing beats surprising family with some exciting news, and something sparkly!
