I took senior pictures here with my roommates (about the time you should be in the area for our wedding!) and it's beautiful no matter what time of year it is. Stunning views, walkable paths, and lots of green space. (no admission fees)
If you're into history, we always recommend taking the time to learn about our civil rights movement. Greensboro is well known thanks to the Woolworths sit-ins, and this amazing museum is built around that historic site! (Currently, admission fees are $15 per person, or $10 for students.)
I'm a bit of a history nerd, but I love how many museums Greensboro has - especially right in their downtown! I haven't made it to this one yet, but it comes highly recommended. It's run, in part, by the City of Greensboro Libraries Department too, which marks it a win in my book!
This is a great place for all ages - the science center has an aquarium, a zoo, and basically functions as an interactive museum. The aquarium is sizable for not being located on the coast, and there are several unique animal enclosures that you don't see at the other zoos nearby (with less walking too)! (Admittedly, another great spot to visit, if you're up for a drive, is the NC Zoo in Asheboro.)
For many years, the ACC has descended on Greensboro for March Madness and many other collegiate sporting events. Beside the Greensboro Coliseum, there's the ACC Hall of Champions for anyone invested in the history of sports.
James and I frequented this restaurant OFTEN when I was still living here. It's delightful, themed with robots fighting one another and ambiance to match. Plus they have a ton of burger options and their "gourmet milkshakes" are also super delicious (and sugar high inducing, I won't lie). It's next door to a local movie theater, so you can make a whole night of it if you'd like!
This was a frequent stop for several UNCG Seraphs, so this is a super recommend for me. It's some wonderful Mexican food and their portion sizes are huge. Plus, they have a covered outdoor patio to eat on if the weather is nice!
This is somewhere that Becca (one of my bridesmaids) introduced us to and James loves it. If you're looking for a good place to find some Asian food, we recommend here as long as you don't mind driving a little ways in Greensboro!
Dessert lovers beware, this is an amazing bakery that I stop at as often as possible when in Greensboro. They bake everything in house and you can choose from any of the cakes on display, as well as some cupcakes and other desserts. They even bake dog treats, and no I'm not kidding! If you have the time to sit and eat, their interior is stunning. (Also it's located right next to a Krispy Kreme...)
