Our story began with a swipe on Tinder—in the right direction, thankfully. In March of 2021, we started getting to know each other, and it didn’t take long to realize something special was unfolding. Our first date at Crossgates turned into hours of walking, talking, and laughing, ending with dinner at The Standard. That night, Micaela called her best friend Emillee and said she thought she had found her person—and she was right. From the very beginning, everything felt easy, natural, and meant to be. Although we lived an hour and a half apart, we made the distance work with weekend visits and spontaneous trips whenever we couldn’t wait to see each other. Some of our favorite early memories were simple ones—going on joy rides in Billy’s old Jeep or on his motorcycle, just enjoying each other’s company. After eight months, we took the next step and moved in together in Saratoga, New York. At the time, Micaela was teaching in Vermont while Billy was building his career, and together we navigated the ups and downs of new jobs, new places, and growing together. After a few moves and milestones, Micaela found a teaching position in New York, bringing us one step closer to building a life in the same place. In March of 2025, we made one of our biggest decisions yet and bought our home in Brunswick. It’s there that we’ve begun this next chapter—building a life filled with love, laughter, and the same sense of adventure that brought us together in the first place.
