Growing up together had its advantages. The biggest one for us? Meeting each other. One day Colton & his parents walked through the doors of our church, and it would be the first time Colton & I had met. A couple of years and a new building later, both of our dads being elders in the church, we started to spend a lot of time together. One thing led to another & Colton ended up moving in with his Dad, which was yet another bonus for me, if I should say so myself! Attended youth group every Wednesday night, youth camps, and any church events we may have had. Then the day came when we started texting, which led to phone calls, and lastly, our favorite, which we still do today, FaceTime! On April 16, 2016, Colton & I expressed our feelings for one another & that was just the beginning of our relationship, which has led us to this moment we have dreamed & talked about for years.
The moment I never saw coming, but Colton had planned all along. A little secret we had was that we already had a wedding date set & our dream venue booked. Yes, I know, we did it out of order. So I Kaia knew this day would have to come sooner or later, didn't know when... One of the best days of my life happened at our church's Annual Spring Fellowship in front of all the people we love. People that have watched us grow up and watched Colton & I's relationship grow, & people who are one of many reasons we are who we are to this day. As everyone there knew what was happening, BUT ME! The time had come when all of Colton's nerves were to go away. He asked if I could help him get something out of his Dad's truck. Keep in mind; that I was thinking, "I already have everything I need, but I guess I will help you." Then Colton stopped me, got down on one knee, and asked me to be his wife. I'm sure you could have guessed, I said yes!
