RSVPs for all events are due on March 1st, 2021 at the very latest so we can plan accordingly with our vendors to make this a memorable experience.
Indian weddings are vibrant and colorful, so don't be afraid to wear bold and bright colors. Typically, white and red are worn by the bride and groom, and wearing black is not customary at wedding ceremonies. Other than that, feel free to pick any hue that delights you! While formal Indian wear (lehengas/saris for women, kurtas for men) is traditional, please wear what is most comfortable for you.
If you would like to wear Indian clothes and this is your first time, we're so excited that it will be at our wedding! There are several brick and mortar stores in Berkeley (SF Bay Area), Artesia (LA Area), Edison, New Jersey and Jackson Heights, Queens (NYC Area). Additionally, there are online stores you can buy/rent from. Here are some of them below: Utsav Fashion: https://www.utsavfashion.com/ Manyavar: https://www.manyavar.com/ Lashkaraa: https://www.lashkaraa.com/ Panash India: https://www.panashindia.com/ Riya Collective: https://www.riyacollective.com/
While we understand it is customary for Indian Americans to observe Indian Standard Time (IST), please be punctual because Southern California venues are very strict about their event end times due to city regulations. We hope to maximize the time spent celebrating with you! If you don't know what IST is, please get there at the time listed on the website.
As the bride and groom are health professionals, your health and safety is just as important to us as your company! Rather than hosting a traditionally large wedding, we have switched to more intimate events at a fraction of venue capacity. All events will take place outdoors with guests wearing masks unless eating/drinking/taking pictures. Hand sanitizer will be available, and we will provide masks for guests who do not have one. We are also requesting that guests eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine obtain at least the first dosage prior to travel, and for guests who are not vaccinated to test negative for COVID-19 prior to travel. Please follow CDC and state health department guidelines in planning your travel. CDC: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html California DPH: https://covid19.ca.gov/
