Journey of BE

A story of faithfulness.

To begin, I knew I wanted to marry Benjamin very early on, I even made jokes about it with friends when we were just acquaintances. I would never have dreamed up though that we would date months later. If anyone heard our individual stories before us meeting each other, they would immediately think that us entering into a relationship would bring marriage pretty shortly after. Also, this is the typical Christian College way. See, I came from a past of unhealthy relationships, while Benjamin had a clean slate. So, anyone hearing our stories were waiting for a ring to show up on my finger shortly after we dated, even myself. Instead, God had other plans in which made this engagement all the more sweeter and joyous. Now how does one summarize a love story that only God could have thought up? Well, here's a small taste of it: I transferred to Moody Bible Institute in the Fall of 2016. Benjamin was my brother RA the year I came in and what he always like to say is that he "didn't account for the transfer students that year." It was his last year at Moody and by that point he assumed he wouldn't meet his said future wife in college. But in our first interaction that August, we both were immediately attracted to each other. From that point on, both of us had crushes on one other but didn't do anything about it as we have similar personalities. It started with coffee months later which morphed into a quasi date. After that, our first official date began not a week later and a month afterwards we officially started dating. Our almost 2 1/2 years of dating was far from perfect. Benjamin was scared to commit to me and I was scared he would never commit. We sought counsel, prayed, even fasted from each other for a month. God revealed to both of us that marriage is not for happiness but holiness and now here we are. We have no idea what we're doing but we know that God does and we are so thankful and in awe for what is to come.
