Just a few short years ago, in seventh grade, we were at Relay for Life which is an overnight fundraiser for cancer research. I was softly singing to myself as I set up my team's tent for the night. Dalton overheard my song and decided to knock - well - tap on the tent to find out who it was. I came out in a huff to see who was interrupting my process when we locked eyes and in that moment, it was all over.
Even in 2020, we were still determined to have our annual summer vacation in July. I found a quaint cabin built for 2 in the hill country of Wimberly, TX. On the last night at our little camp, I came outside to find that he had set up our Monopoly board on the picnic table and in the center was a blue, velvet ring box. Needless to say, I kicked his butt that night and won the prize of a lifetime with my best friend.
