Belinda and Edgar met Downtown Fort Lauderdale. Edgar was visiting from New Jersey with his college baseball team for a boys night out. Belinda worked down there, and let's face it practically lived there (hahaha). This night Belinda did her regular 1st stop at Art Bar, where Edgar and his baseball team were enjoying their night. Edgar and his friends approached Belinda and her friends, Belinda made small talk with Edgar, she could tell he was a nice guy from the start and of course very handsome. Edgar barely spoke English at the time, but they bonded over baseball, as Belinda was very familiar with the Yankees, thanks to her dad Elio's obsession. Edgar and Belinda hit it off and danced the night away. After exchanging numbers they hung out two more times before Edgar had to go back to New Jersey. Belinda and Edgar stayed in touch constantly texting, talking on the phone and eventually video chatting almost daily. They decided to commit to one another although long distance and Belinda planned a trip to visit "her family" for a month in the summer, her secret plan being that she was really going to spend the whole time hanging out with her new found romance. Belinda and Edgar spent the summer together going on dates all around the city and the Jersey Shore. That summer Belinda and Edgar fell in love and the rest is history.
It was Christmas morning, we had just finished opening all the presents. The whole family was there in our living room Anabella and Emilia had already started getting into their new toys, but daddy had one more GIANT gift that had the girls names on it, including Belinda. The girls ran over and began ripping the box apart, inside were goodies for the girls and Belinda along with another box. The girls and Belinda began opening that box and found more treats, but then there was another box. So the girls and Belinda opened that box and there were more surprises in there along with another smaller box, at this point Belinda started to think this is a little weird all these boxes, but Edgar can be silly sometimes. Then finally it was the last box with only Belinda's name on it. When Belinda opened the box there was a small red box and she knew. It was the small red box that held her grandmother's diamond ring that was to be saved for the day Edgar was ready to propose. At that moment Belinda realized exactly what was happening and started shaking her head and crying in disbelief. Edgar got down on one knee and made sure he said the magic words that he knew Belinda needed to hear, as previously discussed, "Will You Marry Me?" Of course Belinda said YES!
