Finally getting married!

We met on OkCupid in late January/ Early February 2012. Matt messaged me asking about my pictures of sfx makeup I haphazardly did a few Halloweens prior. I didn't think anything of it until we started talking more and realized we had a lot in common despite our age difference. After talking for a couple weeks, we decided to go on our first date on Valentine's Day. I was in class until 9 pm, so I went to school all dressed up, ready to go on our date after. He picked me up and we dashed to a restaurant. It was closed for a special event. We tried several restaurants until we gave up and ended up at McDonalds. Then we headed to the movies...and once again the movie we wanted to see (The Woman in Black) was sold out so we ended up seeing whatever Underworld was out in 2012. I think I've only seen one of the series and it definitely was far before this one. Then, We forgot where we parked....as it downpoured. From that date on, I knew it was meant to be! I moved in with him the weekend of July 4th, 2013 much to both of our surprises and after 5 years, we decided it was time to leave Sacramento behind, so here we are in Long Beach! Something about moving lit a spark under me and it led to some serious conversations about actually getting married after years of calling each other our Life Partners and talking about having a commitment ceremony rather than a wedding. Flash forward to February 29th, 2020. We were gearing up to celebrate our anniversary (March 12th) and we were at Disneyland (of course) in line at Alice in Wonderland. Once again we talked about getting married and Matt said, "You know I'm gonna marry you right? There's no doubt in my mind." Then about a week later, we really made the decision. Matt considers what he said to be a proposal and he always said if we would get married, it would be a mutual decision...and here we are. PS. Sorry our decision caused the apocalypse. Oops.
