Chris and I met on Tinder. I had just moved in to my own apartment in Ft Worth after living with my family for the first month or two of my first year of teaching. I was swiping through Tinder (the way one does on their lunch break) and matched with Chris. I started a conversation with him because I thought why not. When we were talking we both stated that we wanted something with no strings attached, neither of us were looking for a relationship. We went on our first date on October 4th, 2019 and the rest is history (cliché I know). We went to West Side Café for dinner and ended up talking all night. That night as I drove away I called my best friend and told her I found the guy that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. After that night we would talk everyday and two weeks later we went to the State Fair of Texas together. After spending most of the day and night together at the State Fair we became inseparable. Fast forward to March of 2020, we went on a weekend getaway to his parents cabin at Possum Kingdom Lake and came back to the world falling apart. When we returned home his parents suggested that he move in with me since he was an essential worker and they are quite a bit older. March 2020 was when we finally realized that our "no strings attached" relationship had turned into something that we both didn't expect, but we couldn't have been happier. Chris and I officially moved into a two bedroom apartment in October of 2020 so that we could have room for his son when he came to visit for holidays and summer. The summer of 2021 I became a full time step-mom while taking care of a little boy that has stolen my heart and on Christmas Day of 2021 Chris asked me if I would officially become apart of Alex's (his sons) life. I was over the moon excited that I didn't even answer his question I just hugged him. Chris and his son have made me the happiest woman on the face of the earth and I couldn't picture my life without them.
