Blue Spring State Park
For guests looking to explore beyond the wedding celebrations, Blue Spring State Park is a wonderful day trip from Orlando. While manatees can be seen from November through March, January is often the best time to visit. Because manatees cannot comfortably tolerate colder water temperatures for extended periods, they gather in Blue Spring’s constant 72°F waters during the winter months when nearby rivers become much colder. This seasonal migration creates one of the largest winter manatee congregations in Florida, with hundreds of manatees sometimes visible at once. Scenic overlooks throughout the park offer excellent viewing opportunities and a beautiful way to experience Florida’s natural landscape.
