In both Turkish and Japanese weddings, it’s common to give the couple a small gift in cash or a Çeyrek Altın (a small gold coin). In Japan, this is traditionally placed in a special envelope called a 'Shugibukuro'. The typical amount is around £50–150. After the cake cutting, we’ll be holding a pinning ceremony, a fun tradition where guests can pin gold coins or money to a red ribbon on the bride, or hand the envelopes as a gift. Please do not feel obligated, as your presence is more than enough!
In late March, Pangbourne can be quite cool, with temperatures typically around 10°C, rising to 15°C on warmer days or dropping to around 5°C. Showers are possible, so it’s a good idea to bring a coat or umbrella. The wedding ceremony and reception will take place indoors, so you’ll be comfortable regardless of the weather.
