5:00 pm - 11:00 pm
While we will be wearing colorful traditional Indian attire, please feel free to wear whatever you are most comfortable in! Our only ask is that you wear something bright and colorful to kickoff the weekend. For more specifications on what traditional/American outfit to wear contact Danish & Fifi
The pithi ceremony is a ritual performed for good luck. Haldi is used as a paste made mainly of turmeric, chickpea flour, and rose water. Family members and well-wishers of the bride and groom apply the paste on the bride/groom's skin. After the pithi, dinner will be served and sangeet will follow right after. Sangeet means song/dance, and that's exactly what it's all about, a dance party! The premise of the Sangeet is not only to rejoice, but to join the families and friends so that they familiarize themselves with one another prior to the big wedding day. Friends and family members of the bride and groom also choreograph dance numbers, adding to the excitement of the event!
4:00 pm
Formal Indian attire or Formal American Garden-Themed Attire: Sarees, floral prints, and suits in lighter hues. Please avoid wearing white, thanks!
Guests are welcome to arrive beginning at 3:30 PM EST - the ceremony will begin promptly at 4:00 PM EST. Please be seated by 4PM as we will begin on time! Our ceremony is a beautiful blend of two traditions. It will open with the Nikkah, the Islamic marriage contract - a sacred, witnessed exchange of vows and commitment at the heart of a Muslim wedding. This will flow seamlessly into a traditional vow ceremony, where the couple will also exchange heartfelt personal vows. Cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing to follow!
