We were just two young adult leaders who kept bumping into each other at church events, the gym and at some mutual friends parties. I saw Christian while he was leading out a summer karaoke night and decided that was going to be my crush for the summer. Little did I know that when I joined the young adult Praxis leadership team, which he was a part of, he would soon start falling for me too.
I (Christian) was barely able to last as "just friends" a couple of months before I knew she needed to be my girlfriend. Despite her being in grad school, working 30 plus hours a week and being a church leader, she somehow was able to show her heart to me while I PATIENTLY supported her through school and got the time to get to know her. We had 10 sweet months full of adventure, road trips, finished degrees, and spiritual growth.
Christian here, hi, :) I took Fifi to Oak Glen Preserve on a Saturday afternoon with the excuse of trying to replicate our "unofficial first date." We had been reading the book "101 questions to ask before you get engaged" and we had 5 questions left to finish the book so I told her to bring it with her. She really wanted to start the questions in the car but the whole goal was to finish it right in the spot where I was going to propose. We got to the botanical gardens where I then started to ask questions while secretly her parents, cousins and the photographer stalked us. She finished the last question so beautifully that when it was my turn to answer, I was already overloaded with emotions and started to cry... yes... I couldn't contain it and she started to freak out saying "omg is this really happening, omg omg" and I managed to somehow say, "Fifi, I can't see my life without you in it. Will you marry me?" AND SHE SAID YES!!! booo yaaaa!
