FAQs

If you have any questions about the wedding, events, travel, transportation or any information we've provided, feel free to reach out to us at laurenandryantulum@gmail.com.
Question

When do I need to RSVP?

Answer

We need everyone to RSVP on this site by April 30, 2019 (see RSVP tab). The hotels also book up quickly, so plan to make your arrangements around the same time.

Question

When should we travel?

Answer

It’s up to you! We want our wedding to be your vacation! Wedding festivities start Wednesday evening and will last until Sunday (we'll arrange an optional group excursion or beach day on Saturday). Our plans are to be in Tulum Tuesday afternoon to Sunday morning.

Question

Do I need a passport?

Answer

Yes, you need your passport to travel to Mexico. If your passport expires within 6 months of traveling you will likely have issues, so plan to get it renewed.

Question

What is the weather like?

Answer

Warm and humid! The average high in November is 82 and the average low is 73.

Question

Do we need to rent a car?

Answer

You can rent a car, but it’s not necessary. Our wedding planner will arrange shuttle transportation to/from the airport, and will also help you book transportation for any excursions you're interested in. If you don’t have a car you will have no issue getting around. Tulum beach is very walkable, our preferred hotels and event locations are all within walking distance of each other. A lot of the hotels also offer bikes to get around and taxis are everywhere. Your hotel can also arrange a rental car for a day (or more) to be delivered to you if you want to explore the area.

Question

Should we bring cash?

Answer

Yes! Many places do take credit cards, but we found there were still quite a few restaurants that only took cash. Paying in Mexican Pesos was much better because they won't always give you the best exchange rate when paying in US Dollars. On that note, you can always ask them to run your credit card in Pesos as well. The ATMs around the beach have pretty high fees and sometimes only dispense USD, so we would recommend exchanging at your bank before coming or at the airport. Sometimes the hotels will exchange for you if you get in a bind.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Our welcome event will be casual, think summer dresses, shorts, t-shirts, linen or polo shirts. Whatever you’re comfortable in. The wedding ceremony and reception is tropical cocktail attire. Think cocktail dresses, flowy dresses or jumpsuits for the ladies, shorts or slacks and collared shirts for the guys. No jackets or ties are expected. It should be warm, so think light fabrics! The ceremony and after party is on the beach, so feel free to wear sandals or take your shoes off when you arrive. Other than our events, think swimsuits and casual beach clothes during the day and comfortable, light clothes for excursions. The restaurants range from casual to super trendy, so if you feel like cleaning up for a nice dinner you'll have plenty of options.

Question

Are you registered?

Answer

PLEASE, no gifts. We know it's asking a lot to travel so far to be with us. Your presence is beyond enough! We have set up a honeymoon fund for those who have insisted: https://www.wanderable.com/hm/fiestadegoff
