They met summer of 2016 through mutual friends. They saw each other for the first time at Alexis' Game of Thrones finale party. The next day they had their first date...at Waffle House. They talked for hours over Texas bacon egg and cheese sandwiches and chicken biscuits. Alexis left with her roommate for her birthday trip in Tampa the next day, but when she came back, they were inseparable. Alexis also dislocated her knee on that trip and Torry helped nurse her back to health. Their first outing was at Centennial Park for the 4th of July firework display & Prince tribute. Torry remembers carrying her to their Uber so she would not have to walk far on her recovering knee. A few weeks later Torrence made it official in her home town of Orlando, FL and it’s been love and laughter every day since.
Torrence proposed to Alexis at the Ritz Carlton overlooking the city's largest 4th of July firework display at Centennial Olympic Park. They stayed at the same hotel for their one-year anniversary and just three years prior they had their first outing in the city at the same display. Torrence told Alexis they would be staying at an Airbnb so she was completely surprised as they arrived at the Ritz. Torrence set up a camera in the suite to capture the magic which had been set up with flowers, chocolate covered strawberries, and a bottle of champagne. As the sun set, they could see dozens of firework displays across the city. When the main display started, Torrence got down on one knee with the ring. After one of his infamous rambles he asked “Alexis, will you marry me?” Alexis couldn’t wait for him to stop talking so she could say Yes!
