Our first date unfolded in January of 2024 at Monday Night Brewery in Charlotte, NC. It was a simple first date - cocktails, a shared pizza, and a proper introduction of the pups, Charlie and Ripken. Kevin nervously arrived with a pair of glasses that would not stop fogging. He was trying hard to appear composed while mentally noting that Erin’s father was a retired NYPD sergeant. Somewhere between all the laughs and Kevin’s foggy glasses, we both knew this would be something promising. And it was. March 2024 - Kevin asks Erin to be his girlfriend. Erin declines. August 2024 - Erin asks Kevin to be her boyfriend. Kevin accepts. We moved in together the following April and Charlie quickly learned to tolerate the crazy golden retriever … and Ripken. Living in the heart of South End, we shared endless nights of walks on the rail trail, good food, and the occasional detour for an adult beverage. When it came time to write the next chapter, Kevin pulled off a big surprise as we were taking our annual trip to Asheville with the dogs. Little did Erin know that Kevin had been planning this weekend for a long time. He made plans with Erin’s best friends to secretly travel down to share in the big moment. At the Sierra Nevada Brewery, Kevin got down on one knee and popped the Q. Erin accepts. Today, we still laugh the same amount we did on that first date. We are looking forward to continued laughs (and adult beverages) as we spend the rest of our lives together. We are so excited for November 14th and cannot wait to share the day with the most important people in our lives!!
