It all started with our love for the same activity...football! Our mutual friend had invited the both of us to tailgate/go to the 49ers vs. Broncos game. The tailgate was filled with a lot of friends, food, games and the best kind of ice breaker….tequila! We had so much fun chatting and hanging out that afternoon that Erik then asked me to go on our first date to Orchard City Kitchen. From then on, we hung out nonstop. We’ve been on many vacations together, hosted numerous bbqs, played countless rounds of golf, and have always had fun together. I really knew Erik was a keeper when he took on the “dad role” to my first true love...my little, old, diabetic poodle Kirby. I really REALLY knew he was the one when he welcomed the idea of getting two more puppies to add to the family. We are now the proud parents to our three dogs, Kirby, Phil and Gary. After living together and being co-parents for a few months, Erik decided the time was right to pop the question (also with a little nudging from me). His mom was in town for a visit in July, so he arranged for us to take her out to a nice dinner. What I didn’t know was that while we were at dinner, he had my sister and mom set up decorations and put the dogs in “tuxedos” for when we arrived back home. As we were walking up to the front door I noticed new “blinds” in the windows but didn’t think anything of them. Then, when I opened the door and saw all of our tuxedo-wearing dogs there to greet us, I knew something was up. We stepped inside where Erik frantically found Kirby (who had the ring tied around his tuxedo collar) and proposed with him. Yes, he actually held up Kirby and said “Will You Marry Me?” Obviously I said (squealed!), “Uhh YESS!” and we walked out to the backyard where I was surprised with more of our family members. We have had so much fun getting to celebrate this new chapter and can’t wait to spend our wedding with family and friends!
