Reid and Bliss met for the first time jet-skiing when Bliss was 5 years old and Reid was 6. Of course, they had no idea at the time that they would be so important to each other. At South Fork High School, they both ran on the track team in 2013, when Bliss was a freshman and Reid was a sophomore. They didn't really get to know each other until they worked at the Regency 8 Cinema, where they found lifelong friends. Reid transferred to Florida State University in Tallahassee in 2016, and spent time with Bliss as a friend at parties, usually at the infamous house on Mayhew street. Their first adventure together was to see the total solar eclipse on August 21st, 2017. They planned to drive up to South Carolina to see totality, but got distracted along the way by the beaches of southern Georgia. They hung their hammock in a beach pavilion and watched dolphins playing in the distance. When the eclipse hit, they were at a barbecue restaurant on St. Simon's Island. From that day, they knew they had something special. They consider that eclipse to be the beginning of their relationship. During their time in Tallahassee, Bliss and Reid organized the Buddhist Student Association along with some of their closest friends. That community gave them deep spiritual roots, and serves as an example of the kind of community they always wish to cultivate together. They lived on Westridge drive, where their home was a central establishment for potlucks and other festive gatherings. In 2020, Reid and Bliss packed up their old cars and moved to Boston, where they only knew their friends from Camp Birch Hill. When they arrived in Boston, the pandemic had decimated the social scene. Thankfully, they got to live in a beautiful apartment in Somerville for 5 years and in September 2025 they moved to their new beachy sanctuary in Beverly. On the summer solstice, June 20th, 2025, Reid proposed to Bliss at Greely Pond in the White Mountain National Forest in New Hampshire. Their home continues to be a center for meditation, art, and dancing in the kitchen. Their mission together is to always be creating and playing as much as possible.
