the Best Year Ever

October 20th, 2018 we celebrated the best day ever. The day we officiated our love with an intimate garden ceremony in California, as we were prayed over and blessed in embarking on the greatest spiritual journey life has to offer. Love in Marriage. This December, we're uniting our families and friends in celebrating the best year ever with a wedding where we will renew our vows and share our love with the people we love most. The brides mother Christine will be hosting the all white wedding in her home, where we can eat, drink, and ring in the new year with holiday traditions. Dress formally in all white (a Brazilian custom) to welcome positivity into the new year.

Funny thing is neither of them planned to go out at all that night. Katie was working at a cafe when her friend told her to drop everything and “live a little”. Claudemir was convinced by his friends to grab a drink at a local spot in Venice. Shimming her way through a crowd, she noticed Claudemir watching. He bumped into her (on purpose) dancing to make her laugh. They soon realized he didn't speak English, and she knew zero Portuguese. Luckily, they both knew very little Spanish. At last call, he invited her out to eat, but Katie had to be up early for church. He persisted by saying he loved church and would go with her - then offered to drive her home just to talk a while longer. She said goodbye. Eager, he took her phone and exchanged numbers himself. Leaving the bar, Katie thought Claudemir felt like a breath of fresh air that she didn't know she needed. Honestly, she thought she'd never hear back from him. The next day when he invited her out skiing. She suggested hiking for an easier first date. On that date, overlooking the city, Katie told Claudemir she planned on moving back home because she didn’t really have much keeping her in LA. He sweetly replied “You can’t go yet. We’ll figure it out.” and then they kissed. In that moment they knew they were about to become exactly the reason they both were looking for to stay. At the end of their hike, Claudemir’s received a facetime. Katie recognized the girl from the Venice bar. They hit it off in the girls room when facetime girl invited Katie to meet her “Hot Brazilian friends”. They never did look for each other, but that girl went back and told Claudemir “I met a cute girl and told her to come by so you could meet her!” It wasn’t a coincidence they met that night at the bar. It was destiny. Since then, they’ve been inseparable. All because they both knew that from the moment they met, life has simply gotten better knowing they were meant to be together.
