We're so excited to finally celebrate with you!

Fernando and Kate met in Natick, MA where he was stationed as Active Duty Military and she was working as a civilian Research Physiologist on post. Fernando was very interested in Kate and knew that he needed to get her number. By much determination, Fernando was able to get Kate's number from a friend at work and asked her on a date. Kate said no. So he asked again. She said no...again. But regardless of her hesitation, Fernando was persistent and continued talking to her until he convinced her to actually go on a date with him. The fun times and laughter have continued ever since! In December 2019, Fernando was ready to pop the question! Fernando and Kate traveled to Oregon to celebrate Christmas with Kate’s family. One annual holiday tradition of Kate's family is a highly competitive gingerbread competition, with this years judging occurring the day after Christmas. Fernando and Kate built an impressive beach house together (Fernando's first ever gingerbread house) and of course, with some help from the judge (aka Kate’s Dad), the winner of the competition was rigged. Although Kate and Fernando still claim they would have won regardless. Upon winning, Kate’s dad requested that the winning team make a speech. Kate went first and kept the speech short and simple, while Fernando’s speech ended with getting down on one knee! She of course, said, “YES!” and immediately after, the family poured them champagne. To their sweetest surprise, the two glasses given to them were glasses that were given to Kate’s parents as a wedding present from their wedding 40 years ago!! The year of 2020 provided many twists and turns. Due to Covid-19 we changed our wedding plans not once but twice. While it was not our original plan, we decided we didn't want to wait to get married so we eloped in September of 2020. We are beyond excited to celebrate our marriage with loved family and friends.
