Her: I attended the HeART of Mt Helix with the Lizarraga family on August 16, 2014. After the event, it was decided that the after party would be at Hamilton's Tavern on 30th St. in San Diego. As soon as we walked into the bar, my friend ran into a good friend of hers. They chatted and I was eventually introduced to the friend's group. While drinking a beer, I noticed a guy (from THE friend's group) so focused watching the movie being played on the tv screens. I approached him and said "Evaluating the movie here at a bar ooooor what?" He laughed and responded with "You've watched this movie right? It's Dawn till Dusk." We exchanged names (his name Fernando) and I continued making fun of him being so focused on a movie while at a bar. He then made a "point the finger" gesture while we talked...and yes...yes he did...accidentally poke my boob! I laughed and made him buy me a drink for poking the mountains. He bought my beer, we talked some more and he finally asked for my number. End of story after that.. His: That night was not suppose to happen. I had plans to go to Downtown and meet some friends for a birthday party. Truth be told the birthday girl had a thing for me. I was going to go swing by and pick-up my cousin Hussein and head out for a night of shenanigans. The plans quickly changed when Hussein told me he was pre drinking at Hamilton's with friends. I met up with him there and had a drink. I was anxious to leave because....you know. 1 drink led to another so I decided to mingle. That was cut short because what I saw on the television stopped me in my tracks. It was Salma Hayek with a snake wrapped around her. Dusk till Dawn, one of my favorite movies. I decided to watch the movie. I was interrupted by this curly haired beauty. She made fun of me for being so focused on a movie in a crowded bar. She said her name was Erika with a K. This is how it all began.

We were on a southern Caribbean island cruise with family. On June 20, 2018, we visited Curacao. We enjoyed the day on the island at a nice resort with a beautiful beach. On our way back to the ship, before crossing the Queen Emma Bridge, Fernando asked the sister to take video. Fernando immediately grabbed Erika's hand and guided her to a nice "picture spot" on the bridge. He hugged Erika and whispered to her how much he loves her. Erika responded with an "I love you too honey" and turned to pose for the camera. She then saw, from the corner of her eye, Fernando kneeling down. She turned to him....he opened a ring box...and asked..."Will You Marry Me?" Erika was in shock and was emotionally overwhelmed...not knowing seconds had passed without answering the question. Fernando once again asked.."So, Will You Marry Me?" Erika then nodded her head responding with a YES!
