We worked together for a little over a year on Sunset Boulevard in Disney's Hollywood Studios before we started to get to know each other around the holidays in 2018. I consider that holiday season to be our first Christmas together even though we didn't make it official until over a month later.
The holiday season at Hollywood Studios has a special place in both our hearts, so when Joshua suggested we go to our old work location to look at the decorations and ride a few rides, I thought nothing of it. I was so excited for a fun park day, I even suggested we wear matching fuzzy spirit jerseys as we both love sporting them whenever it's cool enough. After some rides, snacks, drinks, and enjoying the atmosphere on Sunset Boulevard, we decided to go home but Joshua said we should take a few photos before we go. Maybe I'm a bit clueless, but even that didn't give me any hints about his plan, I just thought he was really excited about Christmas. We got a few shots in and the photographer was about to send us on our way when Joshua said he wanted to do one more and he got down on one knee. The second he did that, I burst into tears. Working at Disney, we both have seen numerous proposals in the various parks, but this moment still felt completely unique to us. In that moment, it was just the two of us, I even forgot there was a photographer there. Once I tuned back into the world, I noticed there were strangers all around us clapping and congratulating us. It was such a special experience and absolutely perfect.
