We were both seniors at Miami Springs Senior High School and although our friends at the time were dating, we did not know each other. After a football game, I was waiting with my brother for our ride to get done in the locker rooms so we could get dropped off at home. Josue came charging at my brother upset that he was leaning against the car. I got protective of my little brother and got in his way. We went back and forth until he picked me and joked that he could toss me in a trash bin. I guess you can say he has always been like a cucumber: cool, calm, and collective. He invited us to dinner at Denny's and offered to drop us off. We talked for what it seemed forever that night. We have been together ever since.
He joined the Army prior to us meeting, but after spending our senior year together I knew wherever he went I would follow. We got married right out of high school and our adventure started at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina. Through deployments, PCS season, tornadoes, and snowstorms it has always been just us. I supported his military career, and he supported my educational aspirations. Now we are a Party of Five celebrating our Silver Anniversary.
