After the first night we met, we both brought marriage up to our best friends. It sounds like a cheesy romance movie, but sometimes fact is stranger than fiction. That first night we went to a Swing Dancing event with live Jazz music. Nanda had only moved to NC two weeks before and Johnny had never danced before so Nanda decided to teach a basic ballroom waltz (among many other fun dance moves). You know in the movies when the camera zooms in on a woman and everything blurs behind her? It's even better in real life waltzing with a beautiful woman in your arms. Johnny's brother can confirm; that's exactly how he described the moment to Micah. More casual hangouts followed, but as time passed Nanda thought Johnny didn't even like her. It was so bad she almost didn't come to his birthday party. Then Johnny told her that he was moving soon. He wanted her to know exactly what she was getting into before committing to a relationship with 2.5 hours in between them. But alas, they took the leap. After that... well how do you condense a relationship to a few paragraphs? So much laughing and a few tears, challenges and resolutions, adventures across fields, parks, gardens, forests, beaches, mountains, and big cities, long drives and longer conversations, sushi, bibimbap, and cooking blindfolded, star gazing and early sunrises, planning futures and recalling pasts, dancing and rock climbing, sweatpants and evening wear, meeting friends and family, opening doors and holding hands, listening, praying, caring, and supporting. There's too much to capture in words, but perhaps one word says it all: LOVE.
