We recommend securing a rental car at a minimum for Maui in order to take full advantage of what the island has to offer. Guests should plan for their own transportation to and from the event, as transportation will not be provided. On Oahu, alternative transportation options include DaBus system (reliable and affordable to mostly anywhere on the island), rideshares like Uber/Lyft, or taxis.
Alcohol will not be served at the ceremony, though it will be available for guests to purchase for themselves at the dinner which follows.
The venue is in upcountry Maui, which tends to be a bit breezier than at ocean level. As it will be the end of August, the general climate will likely be warm and humid. When in Hawaii, there's always the chance for surprise rain showers.
The ceremony will take place on a working lavender farm, after hours. https://www.aliikulalavender.com/
From Kihei, where we and several guests will be staying, the venue is approximately a 50 minute drive. From the lavender farm venue in Kula (Alii Kula Lavender), it is about a 23 minute drive to the celebration dinner in Makawao (Hali'imaile General Store). From dinner back to Kihei, it is approximately a 30 minute drive.
We are having a very small and intimate ceremony with dinner to follow, with an estimated 10-15 guests in attendance.
