We’re getting married!

Hi! This is Lindsey - and I am here to tell you our story! Tom and I both grew up in St. Peter, went to the same church, and attended school together - but 2 years apart. I had the BIGGEST crush on Tom in my teenage years, and we even had a summer fling in 2005, but that was it and he was off to school and we went our separate ways. Fast forward to July 3, 2016. A friend of mine was hanging out with Mitch (Tom’s brother) and invited me over. While we were hanging out, it was mentioned that Tom was coming over. I instantly got a few butterflies in my tummy remembering how I felt when I was 16 years old. When Tom walked in, I was quiet - but those butterflies sure weren’t! We hung out most of the night - and then pretty much every day since! Fast forward again to the week leading up to May 8, 2021. Tom had the weekend off and wanted to spend that Saturday together. I was in the middle of studying for a big HR certification exam (I passed by the way!) and told him I couldn’t take an entire day off, but maybe in the afternoon - I was not nice about it though, I had been a real crab and really stressed. Little did I know, he was planning something. Come Saturday, I studied all morning but we ended up not going anywhere or doing anything (partly because the day before I fell on the steps and hurt my ankle) so again - I was crabby. Tom called me downstairs and what I thought was him just showing me something on the furnace turned in to the greatest surprise. He was down on one knee with a ring in hand and asked to spend the rest of his life with me! I took one look at him and that ring, immediately shed some tears and blurted “are you serious??” Then of course, I said YES and here we are today - about to become husband and wife!
