It was the first USA game of the 2014 World Cup, so naturally Brian and Cristina were both at the bar. Brian was with friends, decked out from head to toe in USA gear. Cristina walked into the bar looking for her friend, but when she couldn't find her, she stopped to chat with the rowdy group of guys on the patio. Brian thought she was his buddy's wife (who is Colombian), so he asked her if she was rooting for Colombia. Cristina assumed he was a blonde man child who was just stereotyping, and replied, "No, I'm rooting for Chile." Flash forward a few days and, as luck would have it, Cristina's sister Dani had met Brian's roommate, Richard, and they were hanging out at Brian's apartment. Brian came home and struck up conversation with Dani over the World Cup (Brian can only small talk about sports...) and Dani mentioned she was rooting for Chile! Brian told her he had just met a girl a few days back who was also a Chile fan (VIVA CHILE, CTM!!) and Dani said, "I wonder if it was my sister, she actually lives right down the hall!" He asked to see a picture because he would remember her (<3 <3 <3) and confirmed that it was in fact Dani's sister and, unbeknownst to him, also his neighbor. A few more days went by and Dani was going to meet Richard for drinks. Richard brought Brian, so Dani invited Cristina. Brian and Cristina hit it off, exchanged numbers, and agreed to go out together for the next USA game. They met up as planned and stayed out all night! When the bars closed, they weren't ready for the night to end, so they picked up his golf clubs from his apartment, went to the putting green at their complex to play putt putt, and had their first kiss. Over the last five years, there have been ton of laughs, a few tears, a little bit of screaming, one Hurricane Tina, and thousands of kisses. We moved in together, added our pup/little boy to the family, and bought a house. We are so excited to now get married and share our big day with everyone we love!!
