EXT. SIMI VALLEY CULTURAL ART CENTER'S PARKING LOT NICK is standing near his car. He is cool calm, and looks casually at his phone. SOMMER walks fast through the parking lot. She is dressed in all black and looks to be running late, again. NICK quickly looks up from his phone at SOMMER, he hasn't seen this girl at the theatre before, who was she? SOMMER see's NICK looking at her from across the parking lot. Their eyes meet. SOMMER feels like she knows this guy, there was something familiar about him even though she never met him. SOMMER breaks the stare and rushes to the stage door and goes into the theatre. NICK is still sitting on the trunk of his car staring at the door where SOMMER walked in. He puts his phone in his pocket, and walks in through the same door. Cut to Montage: Nick driving Sommer crazy while she stage manages Monte Python's Spamalot, but he still invites her out for a drink after opening night. Months pass before they cross paths again until Sommer runs tech for A Christmas Carol. After a year of friendship, and Nick going to several of Sommer's bad improv shows; he finally works the nerve to ask her out to a comedy show. They laugh, they have fun and they meet again and again and again. Cut to: Nick moving in, Sommer's Boston Terrier is ecstatic to gain another owner. Then one April fools night, while Sommer, Nick and Bub's are relaxing with their usual movie marathon nights, he reaches into his pocket, he get's down on one knee, and he promises he isn't fooling.
