The very first words James said to Courtney were: "Do you want to go to a party?" Hers? "Nah, I'm good." Maybe not the most romantic of starts, but it was the one that mattered. It was a start to an amazing friendship, and a promise for something more, even if they didn't know it yet. Friendship began to grow into love when James finally asked Courtney on a date - properly this time - in the beginning of their sophomore year. It was simple date: dinner after class at a new restaurant he was quickly becoming obsessed with. Little did he know he was falling in love with one of the pickiest eaters on the planet. She was scared of everything on the menu, but it didn't matter. Nothing mattered but the boy in front of her who kept making her smile with the craziest and dumbest jokes she had ever heard in her life. Ten years later and a lot of things have changed. Courtney went to and graduated from law school. James rose up and became a successful financial director at a banking company. She gained some new wrinkles that definitely weren't there a few years ago. He grew in some grey hairs that he swears make him look dignified. They bought a house. Crazy right? An actual house. But the love stayed the same. So when James took Courtney back to the restaurant that started it all on a chilly December night and asked her a simple yet loaded question - "Will you marry me?" - she only had one answer for him. It was a no-brainer, really. "Yes."
