-Reality TV is not known for having a positive impact on the world, and yet, without it, Meg and Adam would not have met. -We met while working on the same show in 2014, eventually trauma bonding over the stresses of working in the entertainment industry, and used an inside joke/ competition as a way to cope. The inside joke is too long to explain here... -We quickly became best friends, sharing a love of music, traveling, puppets, raising poultry, and angry walks. -After years of hanging out all the damn time, we had to accept that our “bromance for the ages” had developed deeper feelings. We decided to take the leap into dating in 2017. -The universe, which clearly has a dark and twisted sense of humor, marked our initial relationship milestones with chaos. Our first date happened during a torrential downpour that flooded Lower Manhattan (where our dinner reservation was), and our first kiss involved us initially getting trapped in a bar, followed by us witnessing an attempted vehicular manslaughter… Romance, am I right? -In 2020, we decided that the most stressful year ever was the perfect time to move in together! Because who wouldn’t want to split a 3 bedroom Brooklyn apartment with 4 people, 2 cats, and a 90-pound mastiff during a global pandemic? The logic is flawless. -Over the years our partnership has supported us through extreme highs like traveling the world, welcoming new animal friends, and embarking on new creative endeavors; through the extreme lows such as the passing of loved ones, overwhelming workloads, and health struggles. We’ve been on a lot of adventures, not all of them were good, but damn, have our characters been thoroughly developed. How we actually got engaged… buckle up cuz it’s a doozy… -In February 2023, Meg chose an engagement ring and commissioned a custom music box to be made for Adam, with the plan to propose to him in April on our anniversary… without going into detail, a tragedy struck, and it wasn’t a good time. Meg tried to propose two more times over the next year, only to be thwarted by outside forces. Deciding that the 4th time's a charm, Meg resolved to propose to Adam the day they got back from their winter trip in January 2024. -In January 2024, while enjoying a getaway in upstate New York, Adam, unaware of the proposal gauntlet Meg had gone through over the last year, snuck a ring box under Meg’s pillow. Meg, upon finding the box, was immediately worried that a previous guest must have forgotten some jewelry at the AirBnb they were staying at. But being nosey, she opened the box, realizing instantly that the ring was for her. Regardless of her frustration that Adam beat her to proposing, she accepted and still got to ask Adam to marry her when they got home as planned. We knew pretty quickly into our relationship that we were dedicated to each other and wanted to be lifelong partners, but we weren’t in a rush to get the government involved. However, after 10 years of friendship and 8 years of partnership, we cannot wait to celebrate with all of the people who have loved and supported us all this time.
