October of 2018, I was scrolling through Facebook when I noticed the younger sister of one of my college friends had just updated her profile picture. Standing next to her was a girl who made me stop everything. I could not take my eyes off of her. I immediately texted my friend from college to find out who in the world this girl was. I got her name, story, and most importantly the fact she was single! Flash forward to mid-December, my younger brother, Brett, had his annual Military Ball and I had 6 days to find a date. By a blessing from God, Amanda Krutak and that photo on Facebook popped into my mind. I am a big believer in “you never make the shots you don’t take,” so, I proceeded to finally get Amanda’s phone number. I called her, left her a voicemail out of the blue and invited her to come to Brett’s event. An event where she would meet my mom, dad, granddad, brother, and my best friend. We arranged a date a few days in advance to make sure Amanda felt comfortable attending the event with me. We met at Katy Trail Icehouse and little did I know I was meeting my best friend and future wife. I knew Amanda was special immediately. Following the Military Ball, after she had only known me for 7 days, I invited Amanda to come to Vail, CO with all of my best friends. (She said no.) I asked Amanda to be my girlfriend after she had only known me for 11 days. (No, again.). Eventually she said yes :). Since the first day I met Amanda, she has created a feeling within me that I never knew could exist. In summary, “Shooters Shoot” and I’m so grateful I took a shot at Amanda. I can’t wait to marry my best friend, the one person who knows me completely. - Taylor Stell
