How We Met

July 18, 2018

We met while both working at Takeda. We met for the first time a couple of days into Taylor's orientation when the team met up to have lunch together. After a couple of months of working together there was a team building event outside of work. When the event was over, we and a few others decided to keep hanging out and go to Top Golf. After that night the friendship grew and eventually, we would end up hanging out multiple times a week and host lots of parties together. We definitely had ups and downs during our friendship... & Colton definitely wanted to be more than friends a lot sooner than Taylor did 😉

"Are you and Taylor more than friends?"

December 21, 2021

We decided we were due for a dinner together before the holidays, so, as friends, we decided to go somewhere fancy (Town 220, of course) together. We laughed, tried frog legs, and then went back to Colton's house and just sat around and talked for almost 5 hours. The friend-dinner felt like a date for some reason and during the 5-hour conversation, we were talking about what we always wanted in a partner. Turns out we were describing each other. Two days later Taylor dropped Colton off at the airport so he could go back home to Colorado for Christmas. After he arrived in Colorado, he texted Taylor to tell her he made it safely (always per her request) and... we just never stopped texting after that. Eventually the relationship shifted to more-than-friends, and we were staying up all night Facetiming while Colton was in Colorado. When it was time for Colton to come back to Georgia, one of our other friends was supposed to pick him up from the airport, but Taylor insisted she could do it. Taylor picked Colton up and the next week we spent lots of time together because... of course Taylor waited 3.5 years to give Colton a chance after he decided he was moving away to North Carolina. We went on our first official date at the Horse Park and Tin Plate. A few weeks later Colton left for Raleigh, and we continued to date long distance.

"Will you marry me? Say yes"

April 29, 2023

On April 28th we went to the Taylor Swift concert and Taylor was scared Colton would propose at the concert like the TikTok trend... He didn't propose (thankfully! 😅) The next day, we were supposed to get brunch with Brittany in the morning, but she called and was panicking because her dog, Stella, hurt herself. She ended up cancelling brunch. So just the 2 of us went to brunch at City Pharmacy and Taylor thankfully only had 1 mimosa instead of bottomless. After we got back to the house, Colton kept INSISTING we go hiking and Taylor was NOT having it... she wanted to take a nap. Colton gave in and let Taylor have a quick 15-minute nap. After Taylor rested, we were off to the Horse Park (still reluctantly). We did our usual hike and went out on the dock. Colton ended up on one knee and asked if Taylor would marry him. He must have been nervous because he quickly said "... say yes" after asking. Spoiler alert: Taylor did say Yes. Soon after, Taylor turned around and saw Colton's brother, Erik, there taking pictures. We all hiked back together and went to drop Erik off at the house. Once we got inside, we saw everyone was there! Both our families were all there waiting to celebrate. It was a wonderful surprise. We celebrated and now here we are... ready to celebrate for forever. ❤
