Originally from California, I made my big move to Fort Worth, Texas in January 2015. As a way to begin meeting new people, I downloaded the Tinder app. Brittney and I “swiped right” on each other in February, so our verbal connection started there and I decided that I wanted to meet for a first date. It took a few attempts of her blowing me off a couple of times, so it wasn’t until April that I finally convinced her to go out with me. I was seated at the bar of the Pour House when I saw her walk in - fashionably late of course. My first thought was, “Wow! She’s hot” and I was drawn to her eyes and long blonde hair. Without hesitation, she took the seat next to me, ordered a couple of drinks and started getting to know each other. We immediately hit it off and sat their talking for a few hours - I think we even almost closed the place down. I’ll never forget telling her all about Maui, and her telling me about her family’s ranch, Gouldbusk. I asked if they had any livestock out there and she told me about their cattle. Brittney said they cut their herd by two-thirds, but recently doubled it. I was very impressed and asked how many they have total, “TWO!” she replied, “we started with three, sold two of them, and our last one was pregnant. She recently gave birth, so now we have we’re at two.” That’s when I knew I really liked this girl. Over the next four years, our relationship had ups & downs, starts & stops, new nicknames gained and even construction of a new house! - But in the end, I knew in my heart that she was the one that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. Who would have thought that the boy from Cali would propose to girl from Texas with a deer feeder in the background? We are both so excited to celebrate one of the BEST days of our lives with everyone that we love & cherish!
