HER STORY: We met on campus at the University of South Florida. Glenn walked me to my dorm after an event his fraternity was hosting. We connected over being from Miami and watched the last couple minutes of a Heat game in Kappa's lobby. That was the first and last time we saw each other for almost ten years! He eventually tracked me down on Instagram and popped into my inbox asking me to share what I was cooking with him. When I told him there was none left, he asked me out instead. I didn't agree right away, but he was persistent—THANK GOD. On our first date, we watched a live Heat game and it felt better than the first time ten years ago. I liked him almost immediately and thought we'd make good friends but he TOLD me we'd be more. I didn’t believe him then, but he was right. Two and a half years later, he proposed and I GLEEfully said "YES!" to the love of my life.
HIS STORY: We met one time in college. Literally, ONCE! I guess that’s all that’s needed when God plants the seed. I remember being intrigued enough to ask for her number, but I never used it lol. Anyway, after growing through life for ten years, God gave me the opportunity to connect with Liz again. Determined to make the best of a second chance, I met her at her favorite spot, Steve’s Pizza (we still go there ALL the time), and then we spent more time getting to know each other. I knew within weeks. This could really be her. I still prayed about it and eventually confirmed it and told her that she was my girlfriend. Just like that. And things took off. We traveled to Spain and Italy and just fell in love. We came back and before long I was at the Tiffany store looking for yellow diamonds [bar]. We met each other’s families and I still have a lot of work to do with my Spanish. We got baptized together and the next month I asked Liz to be my wife. Thankfully, she said “Yes” and has agreed to be down “forever-ever.” Yes, I asked. I’m excited to love, live, build, and prosper with this woman.
