Felipe and Nikolai met in Fort Leonardwood, MO on May 1, 2016; a day that changed both of them forever. That day was both of their first days in the United States Army. "We would swap night guard shifts with people to be able to be together. No matter how hard things got, we would push each other to keep going. I'd tell him fishing stories and promised to take him fishing in the FL Keys; he'd tell me hunting stories and promised to take me hunting in his hometown of Beulah, Colorado. We both kept our end of the deal and have done both." -Felipe

Alexis and Veronica met in their freshman year of high school. They met on the speech and debate team with Mrs. Carol Cecil. Freshman year they were part of the same group of friends, although not as close to one another. When the time came to pick speech partners for their sophomore year, they chose each other. From then on out they were inseparable. Together, they finished high school and obtained their associates degrees together at Miami- Dade College. Now, they are both nursing students at West Coast University only weeks away from graduating with their Bachelors Degree in nursing. “She is like the sister I never had. No matter what life throws our way, we are there for one another. I’m extremely grateful to have her in my life”. -Veronica
