DEN is going to be your most affordable airport to fly into but Colorado Springs Airport is also an option.
From Denver airport, it will take around 2hours to get to the venue. We recommend renting a car. We will also provide a list of people who have rental cars to see if there can be any ride sharing to the venue.
Ideally, we will all be staying at Bison Peak Lodge. We have accommodations blocked off until September for people to book. You can update the dates you need accommodations for to book your stay (say if you’re coming Friday-Sunday instead). You are more than welcome to find your own accommodations that might match more of your style and just plan to come hang out for any and all festivities throughout the weekend.
The ceremony and reception will all take place in the same area so no need to travel day of. If there is need for transportation outside of the travel to/from the venue we will have plenty of cars (grocery store run, etc).
During this time, the weather will be a little cooler than expected, especially with the elevation. Right now, it is forecasted to be in the 60s for highs and in the 30s for lows.
Based on the weather, please pack lots of warm things especially for our Florida people who aren’t used to the cold weather. This means, light jackets, wool or thick socks, comfy shoes, and lots of clothes to layer on while we spend the weekend together. Bring some comfy walking shoes since the venue will have lots of outdoor activities that will be more comfortable in them. Don't forget things like sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat, especially at higher elevations since we are a little closer to the sun.
For the main wedding day, think "mountain formal." We want you to feel comfortable especially with the weather being on the cooler side. Since our venue is in the middle of the mountains there will be uneven terrain so we advise against stiletto heels and suggest block heels, wedges, flats, or boots. As far as colors, we are suggesting sticking with fall mountain colors. Here are some color descriptions: Reds and oranges Russet: A reddish-brown, often used to describe autumn leaves or coarse, homespun cloth. Crimson: A deep, rich red, characteristic of some changing leaves. Burnt orange: A warm, muted orange, like a crackling fire. Terracotta: A sun-warmed orange-brown, reminiscent of unglazed pottery. Auburn: A reddish-brown, often used to describe hair color. Sienna: A rich, reddish-brown, similar to baked earth. Yellows and golds Ochre: A golden-yellow brown, like autumn wheat fields. Amber: A warm, honey-like shade often seen in autumn foliage. Golden: A brilliant yellow-gold, shimmering in the sunlight. Saffron: A warm, orange-yellow shade. Feuille-morte: A vivid yellow-brown color, literally meaning "dead leaf" in French. Browns Umber: A deep brown with reddish undertones, similar to fertile soil or aged leather. Chestnut: A deep, reddish-brown color. Mahogany: A rich, dark brown, reminiscent of polished wood. Sepia: A brownish-gray or dark olive-brown, originally from cuttlefish ink. Cocoa: A warm, inviting brown. Bistre: A shade of deep brown. Greens Sage green: A muted, dusty green. Olive: A warm, brownish-green. Moss: A deep, saturated green with gray undertones. Forest green: A rich, deep green. Neutral tones Mushroom: A soft, grayish-brown. Taupe: A gray-brown. Charcoal gray: A dark, warm gray. Beige and tan: Classic, light neutral tones.
Friday: Arrival for most of the crew. Check-in starts at 4pm Saturday: Big wedding day! We will start the ceremony at 4pm and stay until around 9pm Sunday: Fun day with the crew (yoga, tarot reading, hiking, camp games) Monday: Departure for most of the crew. Check-out is at 11am.
Yes!! These are still in the works as far as games and what we’d love for activities. We plan for all of these to be at the venue without having to travel outside.
For a Colorado wedding, this is a very important question. With the high altitude, we suggest drinking plenty of water, avoiding excessive alcohol on the first day, and taking it easy. The venue will have oxygen cartridges that can help. We can also provide some altitude sickness over-the-counter medicine if needed.
As much as we love people and all the children, we are wanting to keep our big day relatively intimate. With this, we won’t be accommodating for any plus ones or children. We want the weekend to be as relaxing for you as well!
We plan to have a day-of app that will allow you to take photos and share. But if you do take some outside of the app we would love for you to share them with us so then we can share through an online photo gallery for everybody!
If there are any other questions that we might not have answered, please feel free to reach out to Douglas or Felipe directly. We will help accommodate as much as we can. Thank you so much for being part of not only the wedding weekend but our lives.
