We met our Sophomore year of High School, I was 15 years old and Joshua was 14 years old. We first started talking in our Spanish class where Joshua moved from his seat to the seat in front of me to show one of his friends a photo. Which he then offered to show me, and it was a photo of a scar on his knee from MCL surgery that he recently had. This was the only way he thought he could get my attention. I thought it was silly and didn't think anything of it. Since I took my studies seriously I just returned back to my work and ignored him for the remainder of the day. That evening he DMed me on Instagram and asked for help in our Spanish class. I agreed to give him my phone number and we started talking. A couple of days later we had a welcome gather for an academic program we both just became part of and here is where our intentions for one another became real. We both had butterflies when we would see each other. We couldn't help but smile when we would catch the other looking at you when you weren't paying attention. We would get excited when we would see that the other texted back. Every since that day we have been apart. The day he asked for my number for the first time, the day we first started to talk, it all changed our lives forever. That date will stay with us for the rest of our lives. That date was September 18, 2015.
