Consolidated Gold Mine Road
The Consolidated Gold Mines and gold processing mill, built in the early 1900's, was the largest gold mining operation east of the Mississippi River. Most of the mill buildings are gone but the tunnels deep below in gold bearing rock still remain. Travel 200 feet underground, for a 40 minute underground adventure, and your chance to strike big while panning for gold.

Chestatee Wildlife Preserve & Zoo
The Chestatee Wildlife Preserve features over 100 animals, with many different species and sits on over 20 acres of gently rolling farmland. The Preserve is a magical place to walk around or feed some of the animals. The pace of the Preserve is meant to be slow as guests meander among the exhibits.
Planetarium and Observatory
The star theater seats 46 and houses a Digistar 5 digital planetarium system, which can project starry skies, video, and more on a thirty-foot diameter dome. The effect is a realistic simulation of the night sky as seen from anywhere on the surface of the Earth at any time of night and at any epoch from the ancient past to the far future. The digital system also allows visitors to fly through space to explore other planets, moons, and stars, or sail across the galaxy!
Amicalola Falls State Park Road
On the outskirts of Dahlonega lies Amicalola Falls. This beautiful waterfall cascades 600 feet to a reflecting pool at the bottom. A walkway which goes from the bottom to the top of the falls was completed late in 2001. A paved walkway begins near the reflecting pool at the bottom of the falls. The walkway passes along a series of cascades and about one third of the way up becomes a combination of viewing platforms and steps to the top affording spectacular views of this outstanding attraction.
