We met through a mutual friend, and our very first date was at Fat Rosie’s. JD was actually really sick that day, but there was no way he was going to miss this date. For Shannon, it was love at first sight, or at least she thought so. She even texted one of her best friends right away saying, “I’m going to marry this man!” What Shannon didn’t know was just how sick JD was feeling. They ordered drinks and chips with guac (still their favorite to this day), and while Shannon was ready for a full dinner, JD excused himself to the bathroom… and didn’t come back for quite a while. Shannon assumed he wasn’t into her, but the truth was JD was rallying in the bathroom, determined not to cut the night short. Once he returned, they left the restaurant and decided to keep the night going. They headed to Topgolf, then ended up at a local bar where they could’ve talked for hours. Despite how rough JD felt, the connection was undeniable. The very next morning, JD showed up with Starbucks for Shannon (they happened to have the exact same order), and from that moment on, the rest was history.
