COVID WEDDING UPDATE

We are celebrating on Friday, October 15th, 2021!

Our wedding celebration will now be on Friday, October 15th, 2021 where we will celebrate our one year anniversary with a marriage blessing and reception to follow. We can't wait to celebrate with you! Thank you for your love, prayers, and understanding as we continue to navigate through this uncharted territory. We hope you are safe and healthy, and we look forward to celebrating with you soon!

How We Met

Carter and I met through the Mays Business Fellows Program, a premier undergraduate professional development class at Texas A&M. Carter, a petroleum engineering major, was one of three Fellows who were not business majors. We were great friends throughout the program, but never had feelings for each other. Over the summer, Carter had an internship with Linn Energy in the tiny town of Ulysses, Kansas. When leaving for his internship, he stopped in Houston on his drive and we had lunch. Carter was kind and paid for the meal, and I immediately wondered if this was a date! (*He tells me it was NOT.) That summer, I reached out to Carter periodically to check in and make sure he was surviving in the middle of nowhere. Our harmless conversations turned into care packages and 4 hour FaceTime videos, and I realized I was developing a mega crush on my very handsome, very intelligent friend. When we came back to Texas A&M for our final year of school, our relationship progressed and Carter asked me on my very first real date. He picked me up at my house and took me to dinner at Madden's. I was smitten. Three months into dating, Carter and I were celebrating at a bar after my ring dunk (an A&M tradition where you drop your Aggie ring into a pitcher of beer and chug it) and in my boldness I proceeded to tell some of my best friends that were with us that I was going to marry Carter someday. Although we hadn't said "I love you" yet and I'm pretty sure he was terrified, I knew 100% that one day he would be my husband. Turns out I was right and in October I get to marry the man of my dreams!
