Joe and Paige met at Canisius College where they both majored in Accounting. They had a few classes together and would study in the same area of the library. One day, while studying in the library, Paige casually invited Joe and a few others out to celebrate her 21st birthday. Joe showed up at the bar that night much to Paige's surprise, and the rest is history!

Joe and Paige planned to go for a hike with Joe's brother and sister-in-law, Chris and Allie, at Holimont in Ellicottville, NY. Chris and Allie called on the way and said they wouldn't be able to make it because their hot water tank was leaking in their basement. Joe and Paige decided to go anyways. They hiked to the top of the hill and Joe proposed at the very top overlooking Ellicottville. On the way back down the hill, they planned to stop at a ski hut on the hiking trail to have a few drinks. To Paige's surprise, Chris and Allie were at the ski hut with champagne to celebrate! (Their hot water tank wasn't actually broken)
