It all started behind the counter of a small-town deli in East Haddam, Connecticut. Without fail, TJ was always finding ways to make Ashley laugh (and still does), turning even the busiest or most ordinary days into something special. Little did they know that what began as an instant friendship would soon become the best kind of love story. Trading their aprons for scrubs, Ashley and TJ hit the road as travel nurses, with Callie (Little) and Rue (Ruey-Rue) in tow. From the misty coastlines of Washington state to the sunny skies of South Carolina, they explored it all. Together, they hiked national parks, sampled local breweries, and made their way through MLB ballparks. While on the Oregon Coast, TJ knew it was time for their next big adventure. He had the perfect sunset proposal planned, but (of course) they were running late. Determined, TJ sped (safely) down the winding 20 mph road, arriving just in time before the sun slipped below the horizon. With the sky glowing warmly and the waves crashing nearby, he got down on one knee and popped the question. With tears in her eyes (yes, she cried… a lot) and a resounding “yes,” Ashley and TJ began the next chapter of their love story. And now, after the many miles and memories shared, the most beautiful part is that the best adventures are still to come.
