How We Met

5.13.21

Jake and I first met at The National Quartet Convention in 2019. Both of our groups (The Troy Burns Family) and (The Lore Family) had booths set up, and were singing on the main stage on the same night. Jake says that my Dad had actually mentioned my name to him in passing. Ha. I remember seeing him at our early morning soundcheck the day that both of our groups were singing. He was wearing an orange shirt and a ball cap, and I remember thinking he was handsome. I tried to be obnoxiously loud so that he would notice me. Ha! It wasn't until May of 2020 that he and I really connected online and began getting to know one another as friends. Soon, we discovered how much we had in common, especially our love for Christ and our passion to serve Him through music and ministry. Jake asked me to write a song with him, and the rest is history. Maybe you'll hear our song someday. <3 - Fayth

The Proposal

12.21.20

This was the most magical day of my life. After visiting The Biltmore Estate in the Fall of 2020, I mentioned to Jake that I would love to return for the candlelight tour of the evening in December. He quickly agreed that it was a great idea and so we put the date on the books! I asked him if we could get all dressed up and be fancy for a fun evening and he quickly complied- little did I know he had a plan in his mind. Ha! As we stepped onto the balcony that overlooked the front of The Estate, Jake asked a near bystander to take our picture. This was nothing out of the ordinary for him. But, before the gentleman "snapped our picture", Jake turned to me. He told me how much he loved me, how he had prayed many years for me and he asked me to marry him. Of course I said "Yes! Yes! Yes!". We believe it was no coincidence that the Bethlehem Star aligned on the night of our engagement. From the beginning, we always said that God's timing is perfect. This was just another example of that truth.
