It all depends on your flavor, hotels tend to be in the French Quarter area, Central Business District, and the warehouse district. You are closer to Bourbon St and the French Quarter attractions. Contrastly, NOLA is saturated with airbnb's and you've got your pick of the neighborhood, there are many, each one has its own vibe. Generally speaking ,it seems airbnb's are cheaper, they also allow you to pitch in with other couple(s) and split costs/carpool. (I'm referring to ya'll Texans) :)
Indeed, this city isn't all Mardi Gras beads and drunken debauchery, there's a fair amount of fun family friendly stuff to do. Here's a list of places/events Storyville in City Park Cajun Encounters Swamp Tours Jam Nola New Orleans Aquarium Horse and Buggy Tours through the French Quarter Street performers at Jackson Square
Yes, just make sure to list them when you RSVP
Yes, no registry. We recognize travel can be a lofty expense. If you you feel inclined to gift us something, in lieu of a traditional registry, Thrad and I would graciously accept any monetary donations toward buying a home!
Yep, we totally overlooked this religious holiday, but hath no fear because celebrating Easter in New Orleans is more fun, colorful and joyful than anywhere else in the U.S.! There is a parade that begins in the French Quarter at 9:45 am and an afternoon Gay Easter Parade that begins on St. Ann St and ends in the Marigny. These events are totally kid friendly as well.
