Faye and Brandon met while studying music at Kent State University. Brandon was a sophomore and Faye was a freshman in the fall of 2016. They first crossed paths in their trumpet studio class and shared one other course together—Jazz Workshop. It was in these two classes that they noticed each other’s dedication to their craft and began working together to grow as musicians. In the spring of 2017, they both joined Kappa Kappa Psi, a national honorary band fraternity. This is where their connection truly began to deepen. From that point on, they were nearly inseparable—sharing classes, friends, and a love for music. They spent countless hours together practicing, laughing, and enjoying time with their community. On New Year’s Eve 2018, Brandon officially asked Faye out, and the rest was history. Their shared passions continued to shape their journey, and they even pursued the same Master’s degree in Higher Education. Today, they both work as academic advisors at Kent State—the place where it all began. Outside of work, they love watching their favorite shows, relaxing at home, and cuddling with their five beloved pets: Lily, Jambo, Mochi, Gouda, and Haru.
