Gardens of the World
We did go on a date here once before, but the larger significance is exploring the beauty of John's hometown

The only public space on Pepperdine's campus, multitudes of events and our casual hangouts went down on this expanse of green
Paradise Falls
One of the best waterfalls in Southern California, Paradise Falls is a beautiful, moderate hike with ever-changing views and scenery right in John's hometown
Las Virgenes Canyon Trailhead
Situated at the end of the road of our apartment complex, a classic, scenic, and, most importantly (for Fay, anyway) easy hiking trail that we frequent together and with friends

THE BEST Ramen around, and a monthly-or-so excursion for us during our Pepperdine days
BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse
Pizookie (Pizza-Cookie) Tuesdays with friends go down weekly at this spot, with its own, in-house brewery

John's parents visit at least annually, Fay's mother fell in love with it on her one and only visit, a must-see of Simi Valley

Admission is always free at this stunning observatory overlooking Los Angeles. Surrounded by hiking trails and adjacent to the Hollywood sign, Fay brings all of her tourist friends here
