Please bring NO boxed gifts. You can find our preferred gifts in our registry and contribute to our Newly Wed Fund on the same page.
Our wedding will be a cross-cultural occasion. We suggest wearing modest party attire. Longer pants and skirts are recommended and people of any gender should avoid having bare arms. We also ask that you remove your shoes when entering the prayer space at the venue.
No, alcohol is not typically served at Muslim weddings. The decision to exclude alcohol from Muslim weddings is rooted in the Islamic teachings that emphasize the importance of maintaining a clear mind, promoting good health, and avoiding anything that may lead to intoxication or harm. It is a way of honoring the religious values and creating an environment that aligns with Islamic principles.
We will have some level of gender separation during seated parts of our wedding. During the ceremony, we will pass a list of the day's schedule along with our most loves asides to be sang together by the lake. During the dinner, we will ask women and men to seat separately as well. Afterwards, you are welcome to get together with your family and friends during the chit chat and lawn games time.
You are more than welcome to wear your cultural clothing. We, as the couple, come from two different cultures, Turkish and Pakistani, so be ready to enjoy some mixed cultural stuff. :)
