Can guests stay at the Essex Resort and Spa?

Answer

Yes! We have a room block for Saturday (night before) and Sunday (night of) for the bridal party and guests to book rooms at the Essex. You must book your room by June 27th 2026 to receive the room block rate and ensure there are still rooms available! September is a busy season for Hotels and Airbnbs in Vermont. Leaf peeping szn! We recommend you book your room or rental well in advance!

I’m not staying at the Essex, how do we get transportation?

Answer

The Essex does have parking for guests. However, please Carpool if possible with a designated DD. Ideally, utilize Lyft/Uber which is common in the area. Ceremony, Reception and After Party are all located on Essex Resort and Spa grounds.

Am I allowed to yell and cheer at the ceremony?

We have chosen to host an adults-only wedding ceremony and reception to allow everyone to relax and enjoy themselves. We hope that with this notice, you will be able to make arrangements and attend our wedding!

Dress Code?

Answer

Cocktail Attire: Wear cocktail dresses, LBDs, dressy jumpsuits, and dark jackets and slacks. It is Vermont in September so bring layers incase it gets chilly. The ceremony is on grass, do avoid slender high heels as they may sink.

What are the bridesmaids and groomsmen wearing?

Answer

Bridesmaids are wearing green and the groomsmen are wearing black.

Will football be on?

Answer

You can watch and place bets on your phone at your table, sorry we know its Sunday!

Can I take my own photos at the ceremony?

Answer

Please don't give our photographer extra work to edit your phone out of our ceremony shots! Please keep phones in pockets or purses during the ceremony, after this please DO take photos from cocktail hour on. You can blow our phones up with moments you want to share.

Am I allowed to bring my own alcohol?

Answer

NO! Don't get us in trouble please! There will be plenty available to sip on at cocktail hour and the reception.

Are pets allowed?

Answer

The Essex Resort and Spa is pet friendly! However, we do ask that no pets attend the wedding or reception. Contact the Essex for more information on their pet policy.
