We met on a Christian dating app in September of 2023. We hit it off the day I (Kate) made my profile, connecting over their mutual love for the outdoors, the band Caamp, our families, helping people, and most of all, Jesus. We had our first date at Play Coffee in Orange, CA where time flew and conversation spanned over our mutual loves. I (Kate) remember feeling like Blake was someone I already knew and had been friends with, I always felt safe and at ease with him, knowing he was special. Since then, that feeling has grown tenfold. Blake is my very best friend and favorite person. God answered my prayers when Blake came into my life. OK now the boy's side of the story. I remember the first date when we met at Play Coffee. We instantly hit it off with our conversation over camping, church, the band CAAMP, and Jesus. At one point in the conversation I gave the optional exit of "what are you doing the rest of the day?" and instead of our date ending there we both said "nothing" and continued on our date that ended up being about 4 hours. On the drive home I remember calling two friends and telling them "game over", meaning I found the one. The next few months were spent with lots of carpooling from REI in Tustin to the beach, coffee shops, and other places we loved spending time. We said our first "I love you" at one of my favorite spots, Dana Point Harbor under the Christmas lights. Ever since the first date at Play coffee, it has been so easy to love Kate. She knows how to love in the ways I need without me having to verbalize them. Since we are both currently working at the Children's Hospital Orange County, we will still go over to Play Coffee every now and then to reminisce about two strangers who gave a dating app a chance. Now look at us, planning our wedding and embarking in the wonderful covenant of marriage.
